Kanamari notes
- Person-number prefixes are used with nouns (possession), verbs (subject) and prepositions (object). In the case of nouns, they are used only for inalienable possession, and with verbs only for those which dos Anjos (2011) characterizes as bivalent (≈ transitive), so that there is a parallel division within each word class.
- The forms shown here are from Kanamari dialect (one of two varieties of Katukina described by dos Anjos).
- The allomorphy between 1sg i- ~ hi- and 3sg a- ~ ha- is phonologically predictable (before C- and V-initial stems, resepectively), but does not appear to be the direct result of a purely phonological rule, judging by the inventory of possible syllable types (p. 102f).
