Yurok notes
- The subjunctive forms are used particularly 'with neeko'hl and other similar words that mean "always", [and] generally, in many situations when two verbs are combined in a single sentence' (Garret 2010: 33). The attributive is used in 'the formation of clauses as endocentric expansions of nouns or as nominal substitute groups, including what correspond to relative clauses in European languages' (Robins 1958: 59). The attributive forms for aa-class verbs (e.g. 'rummage through') is not indicated in the available sources.
- Inflection class is predictable from the final element of the verb stem, which originally will have been a derivational element (Blevins 2005).
Orthographic notes
- Following the conventions employed by Garrett (2010) glottalized consonants are written as [C'], with the glottal symbol following, even where this is realized as preglottalization (as occurs with resonants).
